Barvanka
Slovenian for colouring book. Pick a pattern, pick a colour, tap the regions carrying that number, and watch a bare outline fill in. There is nothing to lose, nothing to time you, and nothing you can get wrong.
What makes it unusual is where the pictures come from. Mandalas, geometric tilings, flowing floral and folk-style patterns are generated inside the app as sets of numbered regions rather than shipped as artwork, so the supply does not run out and no picture has to be fetched from anywhere.
- A palette that keeps track. It shows which colours are still waiting, and a finished number quietly ticks itself off.
- A nudge, when you want one. "Next colour" keeps you moving without ever insisting.
- Room for the fiddly bits. Zoom in on the small regions; a soft fill animation marks each tap, and the last zone settles the piece with a flourish.
- A gallery of your own. Everything finished is kept to look at again, and any pattern can be started over in an entirely different palette.

Here is a question nobody colouring a mandala has ever asked: how many different numbers does a picture like this actually need?
Not to look good — just so that no two regions sharing a border end up the same. Take the simplest generated form, a disc cut into rings and each ring cut into the same aligned sectors. Two regions touch when they are side by side in a ring, or stacked across neighbouring rings. That shape is the product of a path and a cycle, and its answer is famously small.
What each number in the palette is for
Not here: no pattern, no picture, no colouring, nothing filled in and no palette from the app. This counts what the geometry demands. What the geometry demands is not what makes a picture, which is rather the point.
